Persian, early 20th century
Wool, 38 knots per square centimetre. Rare combination of a blue field with blue borders. Apart from the fact that they were knotted by hand, older rugs (100 years old is considerable!) were dyed using natural dyes. This means colours may vary (known as abrash) but on the whole, these pigments are stronger than modern, chemical substitutes. And infinitely more beautiful. Very little wear, with a good pile. Washed.
206 x 130 cm.
